TruE Consulting, Inc. is a boutique forensic engineering firm based in Lakewood, Colorado. Founded by Eric M. Riegel, P.E., the firm provides independent expert witness consultation, failure analysis, and litigation support in civil, construction, premises liability, and environmental matters.

Civil Engineering
From highway design and drainage systems to infrastructure failures, Eric brings 25+ years of civil engineering expertise to complex technical disputes. Practice areas include roadway and highway design, stormwater management, drainage, utilities, grading, and heavy civil infrastructure.
Premises Liability
Slip, trip, and fall cases require more than opinion — they require measurable science. Eric holds expertise in tribometry (English XL, BOT, Brungraber) and has conducted hundreds of assessments of commercial properties, parking lots, parking garages, sidewalks, and residential properties, including snow and ice removal standard of care evaluations.
Construction Defects
TruE Consulting evaluates construction defects and accidents across residential, commercial, and institutional projects. Assessment areas include roofing systems, foundation systems, superstructures, shoring systems, exterior claddings, flatwork concrete, excavation, backfill, and grading.

Eric’s background spans FEMA floodplain studies, dam and water impoundment analysis, rockfall hazard mitigation, stream and habitat restoration, erosion and sediment control, and geotechnical engineering — providing expert support on some of the most technically complex matters in litigation.
